The Bertelsmann Foundation and Comillas are publishing a guide so that parents can help their children to decide on their professional future
In Spain, for a long time now, young professionals have been trained for areas and positions not required by the job market, and gaps in sectors with a high demand have been created which have not been filled. Thus, a bad investment of public resources in education has been made, since young people have received an education in areas where there is no demand. Moreover, we are not really moving in the right direction for our young people because professional expectations have been created which have not been fulfilled. These and other reflections to this effect were revealed at the presentation for the practical guide “How to Orientate Your Child Professionally?”, published by the “Fundación Bertelsmann” (The Bertelsmann Foundation), in collaboration with the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE.
